Most of my paintings grow out of a fascination for the land at the edge of wilderness—a world still alive with the intercourse of tamed and unbridled forces. Some of these paintings depict places glimpsed at a distance; others portray refuges sought for solitude and regeneration. All are designed to curl up against the spirit like a question mark, awaiting the spark of recognition to start speaking volumes. The allure of a good painting lies in its ability to draw the eye into a deeper contemplation of the physical world. In this dimension, the communion of form and color renders profounder truths and returns us to that “great good place” we go for nurture and strength. Thanks for looking. —Ed Zorensky |
